A school in Knowsley is looking for a full-time SEND Support Assistant
- and your next move into education might be more straightforward than you think.
You'll support pupils with a range of additional needs throughout the school day.
Education will naturally be part of your role, but pupils may also require support with communication, mobility, personal care, emotional regulation and everyday routines.
You'll work alongside teachers and specialist professionals rather than being expected to manage those needs alone.
Your day could involve:
- Supporting an individual pupil during a classroom activity
- Helping a small group practise a skill
- Supporting mobility and physical needs
- Providing personal care sensitively and respectfully
- Helping a pupil regulate following a difficult moment
- Encouraging pupils to make choices and do more independently
- Following individual support and learning plans
- Recording observations and progress
- Working alongside teachers, therapists and other professionals Great.
Previous SEND Teaching Assistant experience would be extremely relevant.

What you do need is the ability to support a young person to participate in one.

- Observant and organised
- Comfortable working as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Committed to safeguarding and professional boundaries Experience with assistive technology or alternative communication approaches would also be useful.
This is a full-time position in Knowsley, paying £90-£110 per day depending on experience.
