We are currently in search of candidates for an ongoing Container Repairer position within our Knowsley depot. In this role, your duties will involve repairing empty containers, performing hands-on repairs, welding, and replacing wooden flooring in containers. The position requires active and physically demanding tasks, emphasizing a primary focus on maintaining health and safety standards.
Job Purpose: Complete repairs on ISO Containers as per IICL 5 standards which includes but is not limited to the following duties:
- Fabrication welding and straightening of ISO Containers which involve removal of damages and replacement with new components or sections.
- General engineering works that include fitting of patches, insulation, door hardware, weather-proof seals, drains and ventilators.
- Replacement and sectioning of plywood flooring, painting of all repairs that have been completed, general labour duties associated with container repairs, and contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Assist in other duties required as requested by your immediate manager.
Qualifications:
- Fabrication welding.
- Experience with repairs to ISO containers is beneficial.
- The ideal candidate should also have some knowledge of estimating containers to shipping line standards.
Requirements:
- Self-motivated, flexible approach to work, disciplined, organized and have a can-do attitude.
- The ability to use initiative and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
This role entails working from Monday to Friday, with the potential for some overtime being required. The salary is offered on a PAYE basis with a bonus structure in place.
