Key Stage 1 (KS1) Teaching Assistant

Location: Merseyside Area (Knowsley)

Salary: £95.00 - £115.00 per day (Experience Dependent)

Contract: Full-Time, Term Time (08:30 - 15:30, Monday - Friday)

Key Responsibilities

  • Foundational Support: Deliver small group interventions in Phonics, Literacy, and Numeracy to help bridge learning gaps and boost pupil confidence.
  • Classroom Facilitation: Assist the Class Teacher in preparing resources and setting up engaging learning environments that spark curiosity.
  • 1:1 Inclusion: Provide dedicated support to pupils with additional needs, ensuring they can access the KS1 curriculum alongside their peers.
  • Reading Progress: Work individually with pupils to develop their reading fluency and comprehension skills.
  • Behaviour & Wellbeing: Help maintain a positive, focused classroom through the use of praise and established school behaviour strategies.

Requirements & Experience

  • Experience: A minimum of 6 months of experience working with children (this can include school settings, nurseries, sports coaching, or caregiving).
  • Compliance: An Enhanced DBS check on the update service (or willingness to apply for one) and a valid Right to Work in the UK.
  • Communication: The ability to communicate clearly and warmly with young children, staff, and parents.
  • Passion: A genuine interest in child development and a commitment to a full-time, long-term role.
  • Qualifications: While a Level 2 or 3 in Childcare/Teaching Support is advantageous, it is not essential if you have relevant experience.
