Contract Type: Contract
Start date: Immediate. Duration: Up to Dec 2026 (Extension possible beyond this). Pay rate: Up to £500 per day (dependent on experience). PAYE, Umbrella options available.
Location: Suffolk or Bristol office with hybrid working available.
Responsibilities:
- The Contract Project Manager (Plant Integration scope) will manage contract delivery, focused on the contract's Plant Integration (PI) activities, ensuring that the contractor's technical outputs, configuration processes, replication strategy, 3D model delivery and data/tools integration are delivered in accordance with requirements, schedule, and budget.
- Role information: Contract & Commercial Management. Oversee delivery and performance of PI services, including Early Warnings, risks, Compensation Events, and Variations.
- Challenge scope, cost, and value for changes, acting as gatekeeper for task orders and change control.
- Escalate issues to senior management as required.
- Scope Ownership & Delivery Assurance: Own the end-to-end PI scope and act as the primary point of contact. Assure contractor deliverables meet requirements across replication, configuration, 3D models, data/tools integration, and engineering integration. Ensure timely provision of inputs, oversight, and review/acceptance of deliverables. Maintain consistency of PI scope across engineering integration, programmes, and related contracts.
- Stakeholder Management: Build effective relationships with engineering integration teams, contractor discipline leads, and programme engineering managers. Act as the trusted counterpart to contractor contract management. Represent the team in relevant meetings and coordinate across technical and nuclear services interfaces.
- Reporting & Governance: Report on financial, technical, and schedule performance; capture and report scope and budget impacts; contribute to regular PI performance and compliance reporting.
Qualifications:
- Essential: 5 years' experience working on major infrastructure projects, ideally within the Nuclear industry. Degree in Engineering/Science. Strong contract management experience with exposure to technical governance processes. Ability to lead cross-functional technical topics and resolve complex issues. Ability to drive clarity in ambiguous technical and contractual areas. Good communications/interpersonal skills. Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders. Strong organisational skills. Being adaptive to change. Able to carry out multiple work streams simultaneously. Strong IT skills in particular the use of MS Office package. Ability to work independently and within a wider team. Being pro-active in resolving issues and escalating where required.
- Desirable: PMI-certified or equivalent Project Management qualification preferred. Familiarity with nuclear industry standards and EPR design principles. An understanding of configuration management principles, digital modelling tools, and catalogue-based contracting. An understanding of the commercial aspects of major project delivery. French speaking (beneficial, but not essential). Prior experience working on the HPC project (beneficial, but not essential). Experience of the pre-tender and tender stages of procuring contracts for the design, manufacturing and/or installation of industrial equipment. Continuous improvement mindset with focus on scalability and repeatable processes. Chartered, or working towards chartership, with a recognised institution.
