Responsibilities
- Support the care of patients with intestinal failure in line with the advanced nutrition training curriculum.
- Participate in nutrition, histopathology and radiology sessions as part of the programme.
- Manage complications related to intestinal failure and, where required, assist with the placement of dedicated long‑term lines.
- Assist the Intestinal Failure Unit (IFU) team with ward rounds, acute assessment of new admissions and routine ward work.
- Communicate with referring teams before admission and arrange necessary investigations.
- Attend multidisciplinary team meetings, including twice‑weekly waiting‑list management and bed‑planning meetings (Mon and Thurs), a Thursday troubleshoot meeting and a supra‑regional MDT on Friday.
Qualifications
- Actively registered medical trainee with current working rights.
- Willingness and ability to undertake advanced nutrition training.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills suitable for an MDT environment.
