Full or part-time hours. Use your clinical skills without shifts, weekends, or hands-on care. We’re recruiting Pharmacists, Paramedics, Occupational Therapists, Registered Nurses and Physiotherapists for a full or part-time, hybrid Functional Assessor role based in Gloucester.

This is a Monday to Friday, full or part-time role offering predictable hours, structured work, and a genuine alternative to hands-on clinical or shift-based roles. You’ll work in a supportive, structured assessment environment with pre-booked appointments, long consultation times, and full paid training. There is no treatment, no prescribing, and no manual handling. The role focuses on assessment, clinical reasoning, and report writing. You’ll split your time between home working and the local Gloucester assessment centre, typically two days per week onsite.

The role:
As a Functional Assessor, you will carry out structured assessments to understand how a person’s physical or mental health condition affects their day-to-day functioning.
- Conduct structured clinical conversations using professional judgement
- Review medical evidence and supporting documentation
- Produce clear, objective, evidence-based written reports
- Use secure clinical systems and digital templates
- Contribute reports used to support formal disability benefit decisions
There is no hands-on treatment, no prescribing, no on-call work, and no manual handling.
What you’ll need:
- Pharmacist with GPhC registration
- Paramedic with HCPC registration
- Nurse (RGN, RMN or RNLD) with NMC registration
- Physiotherapist with HCPC registration
- Occupational Therapist with HCPC registration
- A minimum of 12 months post-registration experience
- Strong communication and clinical reasoning skills
- Confidence with report writing and IT systems
- Ability to work to deadlines in a structured environment

Pay, progression and benefits:
- £39,500 - £42,000 salary
- Up to £2,000 approval bonus
- Up to 10% annual bonus based on quality and performance
