An exciting opportunity for a Nursing Associate to join our children and young people's eating disorder service in Warrington, St Helens, Halton and Knowsley.
Responsibilities
- Assess the physical health and wellbeing of children and young people under our service.
- Provide holistic care and support to young people and their families, working with other professionals across and outside the team.
- Deliver evidence‐based interventions for children and young people diagnosed with an eating disorder.
- Support with assessments and MDT discussions.
- Liaise with professionals and families, including schools, other CYP services, hospital clinicians, social care, police, etc.
- Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team and with primary and community care colleagues to deliver local and national health objectives.
- Participate in workload planning and delegation, considering competency levels.
- Support the team in developing new ways of working, multi‐agency partnerships and joint working to address public‐health objectives and health inequalities.
- Mentor and assess learners, precept new colleagues, and share clinical knowledge with staff.
- Attend mandatory and core training, including training that will enhance practice.
- Administer medicines in line with trust policies, manage risk, and report identified risks to caseload holders.
- Develop and implement individualised care plans with the involvement and consent of children, young people, carers and other agencies.
- Complete routine outcome measures (ROMs) and maintain accurate, computerised records and returns.
- Adhere to infection‐control policies and advise staff, parents and carers on cross‐infection prevention.
- Maintain stock as required and manage additional equipment needs.
- Attend court proceedings and provide written reports where necessary.
Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills as a liaison between professionals, other services, patients and families.
- Good IT skills to support online psycho‐education groups.
- Caring, compassionate and enthusiastic about learning new knowledge and skills.
- Aware of and able to follow guidelines for safeguarding children and health risk management.
- Ability to work within a public health competency framework and demonstrate competency in holistic assessments.
