We are seeking compassionate and dependable Home Helpers to join our team at Extra Help Cotswold. Our mission is to support individuals in the community who need assistance with daily tasks, from cleaning, housekeeping and meal preparation to running errands, companionship, and more. Whether it’s older adults, those with additional needs, or busy individuals and families juggling daily life, you will play a vital role in enhancing clients’ well-being and helping them maintain independence in their own homes.
As a self‑employed Home Helper, you’ll enjoy the freedom to choose your own hours and decide which of the below tasks you’d like to assist with, making it a truly flexible role. Key Responsibilities- Perform light housekeeping (cleaning, tidying, laundry, ironing, etc.)
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with grocery shopping
- Provide companionship and friendly conversation
- Assist with day‑to‑day tasks such as running errands, collecting prescriptions, and helping with mail
- Support clients in attending appointments and social events
- Pet care and dog walking
- Gardening and minor outdoor tasks (e.g., watering plants)
- Adapt to each client’s needs with a tailored approach
- A genuine interest in supporting others and making a positive impact in the community
- Reliability, patience, and a caring disposition
- Ability to adapt to the needs of a diverse client base, including elderly individuals, busy professionals, and families
- Full, clean driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle
- Hold a clear DBS check and personal liability insurance or be willing to obtain both
- Good communication skills and a professional attitude
- Ability and willingness to travel to client locations in Cirencester and surrounding areas, typically within a 30‑minute commute
- Previous experience in cleaning, care, hospitality, companionship, housekeeping or similar roles is beneficial but not essential
