Job Summary
We are recruiting a Higher Level Teaching Assistant at Caerphilly County Borough Council to lead our nursery, delivering high‑quality play‑based learning in line with the Froebel approach.
Responsibilities
- Lead whole‑class learning and support high‑quality play‑based experiences both indoors and outdoors.
- Implement the national/foundation stage curriculum and related learning programmes.
- Work with young children in a learning environment to enhance their numeracy and literacy skills.
- Foster a child‑centred pedagogy and create learning experiences that inspire awe, wonder, curiosity, and exploration.
Qualifications
- Level 4 qualification on the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales (e.g., Higher Level Teaching Assistant).
- Level 2 qualification in numeracy and literacy (e.g., NVQ Level 2 in English and Maths).
- Working knowledge and experience of implementing the national/foundation stage curriculum.
- Experience working with children of the relevant age in a learning environment.
