Manpower are looking for a 7.5 tonne Delivery Driver to work for our client based in St Helens. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing company, working in brand-new facilities with top‑of‑the‑line equipment, while making a positive environmental impact.
Hours of Work: Mon – Fri. Some days may run up to 10 hours, while others finish earlier depending on daily workload. Flexibility is required, with the emphasis on safely completing full daily tasks in an accumulative weekly hours basis.
Job Overview: As a Delivery Driver, you will be the face of the business, delivering fresh cooking oil to the catering industry and collecting used oil to return to the micro site. Relationship building with customers is key, as the client aims to ensure every order is fulfilled in a timely, efficient, and friendly manner. You’ll also have the opportunity to assist in generating new business during your rounds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive an HGV C1 vehicle on planned routes
- Collect used cooking oil from restaurants and businesses
- Deliver fresh supplies where required
- Complete 15-25 stops per day
- Provide friendly, professional customer service
- Handle barrels (physical role)
Requirements:
- 7.5 tonne driving licence
- DCPC digital tacho card
- At least 6 months proven experience driving 7.5 tonne vehicles in the UK, with solid understanding of road laws and regulations
- Excellent communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with transport office, customers, and other drivers
- Professionalism; maintain a professional appearance and conduct at all times
- Customer service orientation with a friendly, positive attitude and willingness to engage with customers
- Strong knowledge of vehicle safety and workplace health and safety regulations
- Problem‑solving ability to handle unexpected situations
- Attention to detail, especially when handling documents
- Reliability and flexibility with work hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays if needed
- Sales experience (desirable): experience in business‑to‑business sales and achieving sales targets as part of a driving role would be an advantage but is not essential
