The Best Connection Group are looking for Class 1 Drivers for our client based in the Stoke – On – Trent area. We are seeking reliable and experienced Class 1 Drivers to join our team, specialising in the transportation of timber. If you have a strong work ethic and excellent driving skills, we want to hear from you!
Work will involve completing store deliveries of timber products in various locations (usually 1 drop, can be up to 3). No loading or unloading is required but you will be required to securely strap the load down - training can be provided.
Pay rates are as follows:
- Night shifts - £17.51 (between 16:00-22:00)
- £19.16 (between 22:00 - 06:00)
- £16.00 (between 06:00 - 16:00)
Days of work for night drivers - Sunday to Thursday with a start time of 17:30pm. An assessment is required prior to commencing work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a Class 1 HGV to transport timber products to various locations.
- Perform pre- and post- trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and road worthiness.
- Secure timber loads using ratchet straps to prevent movement during transit.
- Comply with all road traffic regulations and company policies.
- Maintain accurate delivery records and paperwork.
- Perform routine vehicle management checks and report any issues promptly.
- Provide excellent customer service when interacting with clients on delivery sites.
- Adhere to delivery schedules while maintaining a high level of safety.

- CPC Driver Qualification Card.
