Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support Team Leaders and Production Operators – keeping communication open on the shop floor, running briefings, and promoting a strong safety and quality culture.
  • Make sure the daily production plan is met by organising labour, equipment, and materials and adjusting staffing where needed.
  • Handle day‑to‑day people management, including training, performance discussions, recruiting support, and dealing with issues fairly and promptly.
  • Take ownership of health, safety and environment standards, investigating incidents, updating systems, completing risk assessments, and driving safer ways of working.
  • Use lean tools to improve processes, support preventative maintenance activities, manage time‑and‑attendance, and build good relationships with union reps.

Requirements:

  • Manufacturing background – the role is better suited to someone coming from an engineering industry.
  • Experience dealing with unions would be beneficial.
  • Experienced with people management and overseeing teams of 30.
  • Strong understanding of HSE requirements.
