Shift Leader/Lead Care Practitioner at Orchard End, Wellington, Hereford. HR4 8AL. £13.87 - £14.85 per hour (dependent on qualifications and experience).

About Orchard End… Orchard End is a community based residential home for six adults and is situated in an acre of gardens in the Herefordshire Hamlet of Auberrow, conveniently placed between the market town of Leominster and the Cathedral City of Hereford. We pride ourselves on giving the best possible care and life experience for our young adults. We go on various trips out; we go swimming, to cafes; do arts and crafts, cookery, music, gardening and much more.
What does the role of Lead Care Practitioner involve?
As a Lead Care Practitioner you will manage a small team of Support Workers ensuring each shift runs smoothly and effectively. You will be responsible for conducting and properly recording regular supervisions for all team members in accordance with current guidelines. If you have experience leading a care team or a minimum of one year’s previous experience of working with adults with severe learning difficulties and feel you are ready for the new step in your career apply today.
Essential Criteria:
- Minimum of one year’s previous experience of working with adults with severe learning difficulties and who can present challenging behaviours.
- Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and sleep-in duties.
- A natural respect for the dignity and individuality of each resident and an ability to promote these values within your team of staff.
- A valid current driving licence.
Desirable Criteria:
- Previous experience of managing a small team of staff and delegation of workload.
- Previous experience of good supervision and supervision training.
- Level 3 Diploma in Care or equivalent.
