A permanent position as a Healthcare Assistant in the Major Trauma Ward, working 37.5 hours with day and night shifts.
- Assist and feed patients as necessary.
- Help patients complete menu forms and liaise with the Catering Department regarding meal requirements.
- Report patients' dietary intake as indicated in the patient plan of care.
- Carry out movement and handling within safe practice guidelines and the patient’s manual handling plan.
- Enable patients to maintain/improve mobility using exercise and mobility appliances as directed by individual care plans.
- Assist in the prevention of pressure sore development as directed by the registered nurse in conjunction with the patient’s plan of care.
- Obtain specimens from patients for ward or laboratory testing.
- Escort patients to clinical departments within the hospital.
- Assist registered nurse in performing last offices.
- Make general observations of patients, reporting any untoward events to registered nursing staff.
