Ward 10A is a 25‑bedded frailty ward caring for elderly patients. We are looking for a caring and compassionate assistant to join our multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver personal care to patients, maintaining privacy and dignity.
- Assist with patient rehabilitation and support activities of daily living (mouth care, hygiene, toileting).
- Comply with all safety and infection control procedures, including safe handling of patient equipment.
- Communicate compassionately with patients, families, and team members while maintaining confidentiality.
- Support patient feeding, diet, nutritional and fluid intake monitoring, and report changes to nursing staff.
- Manage patient belongings in line with Trust policy and maintain a safe, clean working environment.
- Assist with supply monitoring and ordering and oversee waste disposal as directed.
- Participate in handovers, debriefs and delegated procedures under supervision of registered healthcare professionals.
- Promote and maintain a positive, collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinary team.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience or interest in health‑care or caring for elderly patients.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work safely in a fast‑paced ward environment.
- Competence to act within the scope of training and seek support when unsure.
