Ward 10A is a 25‑bedded frailty ward caring for elderly patients. We are looking for a caring and compassionate assistant to join our multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver personal care to patients, maintaining privacy and dignity.
  • Assist with patient rehabilitation and support activities of daily living (mouth care, hygiene, toileting).
  • Comply with all safety and infection control procedures, including safe handling of patient equipment.
  • Communicate compassionately with patients, families, and team members while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Support patient feeding, diet, nutritional and fluid intake monitoring, and report changes to nursing staff.
  • Manage patient belongings in line with Trust policy and maintain a safe, clean working environment.
  • Assist with supply monitoring and ordering and oversee waste disposal as directed.
  • Participate in handovers, debriefs and delegated procedures under supervision of registered healthcare professionals.
  • Promote and maintain a positive, collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience or interest in health‑care or caring for elderly patients.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work safely in a fast‑paced ward environment.
  • Competence to act within the scope of training and seek support when unsure.
