Duties of the MOT Tester:

  • Conduct all aspects of MOT testing in accordance with government standards
  • Support customers through the testing process, providing updates and explanations regarding test results and any necessary repairs
  • Build and maintain long-term customer relationships through excellent service
  • Support workshop operations by diagnosing and performing vehicle repairs and servicing (where applicable)
  • Ensure the smooth and efficient flow of work within the workshop
  • Maintain accurate records in compliance with statutory requirements as a MOT Tester
  • Liaise effectively with team members and customers to support operational efficiency

Requirements:

  • Valid Class 4 and Class 7 MOT testing licences
  • UK driving licence with minimal points
  • Ideally hold IMI/NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
  • Alternatively, extensive time-served experience as a vehicle mechanic with a current MOT licence
  • Strong team player with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and maintain high standards of safety and quality
