Duties of the MOT Tester:
- Conduct all aspects of MOT testing in accordance with government standards
- Support customers through the testing process, providing updates and explanations regarding test results and any necessary repairs
- Build and maintain long-term customer relationships through excellent service
- Support workshop operations by diagnosing and performing vehicle repairs and servicing (where applicable)
- Ensure the smooth and efficient flow of work within the workshop
- Maintain accurate records in compliance with statutory requirements as a MOT Tester
- Liaise effectively with team members and customers to support operational efficiency
Requirements:
- Valid Class 4 and Class 7 MOT testing licences
- UK driving licence with minimal points
- Ideally hold IMI/NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
- Alternatively, extensive time-served experience as a vehicle mechanic with a current MOT licence
- Strong team player with excellent communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and maintain high standards of safety and quality
