Shift Patterns: Tuesdays and Fridays only 08:00-12:00

What You'll Be Doing

  • You're part of a specialist, multi‑disciplinary ECT team, supporting the safe and effective delivery of anaesthesia for patients undergoing Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT).
  • You will play a key role in ensuring high standards of patient care within a calm, structured clinical environment.
  • You're working closely alongside Consultant Psychiatrists, Anaesthetists, ODPs, Nurses and Recovery staff, contributing to positive patient experiences and clinical outcomes.
  • Responsible for assisting in the preparation and delivery of anaesthetic procedures for patients undergoing ECT treatments.
  • Supporting the team to prepare and check specialist anaesthetic equipment and medications, including anaesthetic machines, intravenous equipment and airway management devices.
  • Responsible for monitoring patients throughout the anaesthetic and recovery process, ensuring patient safety and comfort at all times.
  • Responding promptly and effectively to any changes in a patient's condition or potential complications during treatment.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation and adhering to all clinical governance, infection control and patient confidentiality standards.
  • Providing reassurance and support to patients before, during and after treatment, recognising the sensitive nature of ECT care.

  • Mentoring or teaching qualification
