The predicted salary is between 16 - 16 £ per hour.

We are recruiting two motivated and reliable individuals to join the team in Ormskirk (Halsall). The roles commence and are predominantly working in the packhouse. These roles combine packhouse operations with general farm and greenhouse work, supporting the full cycle of produce handling from planting to picking and packing. This is an excellent opportunity for long‑term employment following the initial 12‑week temporary period.

Working pattern:

  • Monday to Thursday: 07:30 am – 04:00 pm
  • Friday: 07:30 am – circa 3:00 pm (typically)
  • Optional overtime on Saturday in busier periods
  • Overtime paid for any hours above 39 hours worked: £13.00 per hour up to 39 hours, £16.00 per hour above 39 hours
  • Breaks: 2 × 15‑minute breaks (morning and afternoon) and 30‑minute unpaid lunch per day

Additional facilities:

  • Breakout room (microwave, kettle, heater, hot & cold water)
  • Designated smoking shelter on‑site

Key responsibilities:

  • Packing, sorting and picking agricultural produce ready for distribution
  • Working within the greenhouse to plant seedlings and harvest mature crops
  • Assisting with general harvesting and maintaining product quality standards
  • Ensuring work is completed safely and in line with hygiene and quality procedures
  • Maintaining tidy, efficient work areas within both the packhouse and greenhouse
  • Carrying out occasional yard and general farm assistance duties during low‑production periods (infrequent)

Candidate requirements:

  • Previous experience in agricultural, horticultural or production is advantageous; training provided
  • Physically fit and capable of manual, hands‑on tasks
  • Reliable, punctual and able to work effectively as part of a small team
  • Positive attitude, flexibility and willingness to work across varied farm and packhouse tasks

PPE provided:

  • Steel‑toe cap wellies, gloves, coveralls, waterproofs, earmuffs/defenders (airpods or wired earphones allowed as long as not exposed)
