SRG is working with a multinational chemicals manufacturer that produces a highly varied range of products. Based in North Cheshire, their central Analytical Team is looking to hire a Chemistry Graduate to join the team as an analyst on temporary contracts. The temporary contract can be up to 6 months in the first instance, with potential to extend or even become permanent. This vacancy is to support testing of samples from across the site, from multiple departments and customers, providing an excellent opportunity for recent chemistry graduates with strong laboratory skills to learn and develop in a global chemical manufacturer.

Role / Description:

  • Conduct analysis using a range of analytical techniques and instrumentation including GC, HPLC, ICP, MS and Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy as well as density, colour and wet chemistry tests.
  • Carry out quality checks on instruments and methods that guarantee the quality of data produced.
  • Complete initial investigation work on analytical anomalies in line with technical and analytical instrument and technique knowledge.

Requirements:

  • HND or BSc degree in Chemistry, Analytical Science, Forensic Science or similar preferred.
  • Good practical analytical skills – hands‑on industrial experience of GC and HPLC in particular, ICP or MS preferred – this can be through education or work experience.
  • Excellent time‑management skills, able to adapt according to priorities and think clearly under pressure.
  • A strong team player, able to collaborate and support colleagues as needed.
  • Eagerness to learn and develop.
