Manpower are currently seeking an interim Fragrance Evaluation Assistant, to work with our global FMCG client Unilever, renowned for brands such as Dove, Sure, Persil, and Simple, and become an integral part of their fast-paced FMCG environment. The position is based at our client's scientific Research & Development facility in Port Sunlight Village, Wirral easily accessible by train and car. This is a full-time temporary role to run for 6 months, requiring 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Compensation for this role is competitive, paying up to £34,672 per annum, pro rata, depending upon experience.

Key Accountabilities

  • Evaluation & Sample Coordination: Request, track, and manage application samples to support Fragrance Design Leaders (FDLs) and perfumers across projects and evaluations. Support the fragrance stability evaluation and accurately record the results. Manage fine fragrance inventory and sampling activities for GC and evaluation needs.
  • Submission & Project Support: Coordinate complex submission preparation, including samples and administrative submission packages, across internal (UFH) and external (BG) stakeholders. Support fragrance testing and submission readiness through accurate data gathering and compliance checks. Ensure all documentation is complete, accurate, and aligned with internal standards and external requirements.
  • Logistics & Operations: Oversee inbound and outbound shipments, both internal and external, including tracking, receipt, unpacking, and dispatch to relevant team members. Maintain organized tracking systems for samples, submissions, and inventory to ensure visibility and traceability. Support cross-team operational coordination to ensure deadlines and priorities are met.
  • Communication & Network Support: Enable seamless communication across the global and regional network of perfumers and evaluators. Act as a reliable point of contact to facilitate information flow, issue resolution, and day-to-day operational needs. Collaborate effectively across cross teams to support evaluation timelines and project delivery.

Key Requirements

  • Minimum BSc Degree (or equivalent) in perfumery, cosmetic or science.
  • Background in science, fragrance, or consumer products is an advantage.
  • Strong interest in fragrance, evaluation, and product development required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with precision, structure, and reliability in operational roles.
  • High attention to detail with a mindset for scientific precision and accuracy.
  • Solid organizational, documentation, and tracking skills.
  • Highly responsive and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, creative environment.
  • Comfortable working independently while remaining strongly connected to the wider team.
  • Proactive, structured, and solution-oriented in approach.
  • Clear and effective communicator across functions and geographies.
