Monmouthshire Children Services has been investing in the improvement and development of a fostering service which has our children at its heart, seeks to work in participation with our Foster Carers, and responds to the dynamic challenges arising from the Governments “removal of profit from children’s care” agenda.
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Fostering Team Manager to work alongside our Senior Practitioners leading on Assessment, Panel development and Compliance to build on the progress made so far. This is a key leadership role, where you’ll manage a skilled team, drive service improvements, and work collaboratively with partners to deliver positive outcomes.
You will oversee the recruitment, assessment, and support of foster carers, ensuring high-quality placements that meet the needs of children who are looked after. We’re looking for someone with strong management experience, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Monmouthshire County Council is invested in providing an excellent service to its foster carers including a dedicated clinical psychology and therapy service for foster carers and the children they care for (BASE) and an intensive support service for children with more complex needs (MyST). If you are motivated, reflective and creative with strong social work values and passionate about fostering, we would love to hear from you.
