How to prepare for a job interview at Career Choices Dewis Gyrfa Ltd

Know Your FLT Inside Out

Make sure you brush up on your knowledge of the forklift you're going to be using. Familiarise yourself with the specific model and its features, as well as any safety protocols. This will show that you're not just qualified but also genuinely interested in the role.

Highlight Relevant Experience

Even if you don't have timber experience, think about any similar roles you've had. Be ready to discuss how your previous jobs relate to the responsibilities of a Forklift Driver. Use specific examples to demonstrate your skills and adaptability.

Prepare for the Assessment

Since you'll need to pass an assessment before starting, practice your driving skills if possible. Familiarise yourself with common tasks you might be asked to perform during the assessment, like manoeuvring in tight spaces or stacking loads safely.

Plan Your Journey

Given the remote location of the client, make sure you have reliable transport sorted out. Plan your route in advance to avoid any last-minute stress. Arriving on time shows commitment and professionalism, which can really impress your interviewers.
