The Best Connection is currently recruiting for a Yard Operative / Forklift Driver to join a busy and well-established site based in Usk. This is a fantastic temp-to-perm opportunity for the right candidate, offering consistent full-time hours and the chance to secure a permanent position following a successful trial period. This role would suit someone with previous forklift and yard experience who is looking for long-term stability within a supportive and fast-paced working environment. This is a hands-on role working as part of a team to ensure the smooth running of daily operations.
Responsibilities:
- Operate 2.5 tonne and 8 tonne counterbalance forklifts
- Load and unload lorries
- Move materials safely around the yard
- Clean and prepare equipment for use
- Store materials correctly and maintain yard organisation
- Assist with stock control and general yard duties
- Carry out basic checks on forklift equipment and report faults
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
Qualifications:
- Valid counterbalance forklift licence
- Previous experience in a similar yard or warehouse environment
- Good understanding of health and safety
- Reliable and hardworking
- Ability to work as part of a team
Pay is £12.71 per hour, Monday to Friday 08:00 to 16:30. This is an ongoing role with consistent hours and the opportunity to secure a permanent contract for the right candidate.
