Educato are currently recruiting a dedicated and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to work full-time within a specialist secondary SEN setting, supporting pupils with a range of complex additional needs. This provision supports young people who present with SEMH needs, often alongside ASD, ADHD, trauma-related behaviours and social, emotional and mental health challenges. Many pupils have experienced disrupted education and require consistent, patient and understanding adults who can build strong, trusting relationships.
The Role
- Full-time position, Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
- Long-term role until at least Easter, with potential to extend
- Supporting pupils both in and out of the classroom, including during unstructured times
- Providing 1:1 and small group support
- Supporting emotional regulation, behaviour management and engagement with learning
- Working closely with teachers and the wider pastoral team to implement behaviour and support plans
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience working with SEMH, ASD or challenging behaviour
- A calm, patient and resilient nature
- Confident supporting pupils who may display dysregulated or distressed behaviour
- Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to remain consistent and firm but fair
- A genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs
