We have an exciting opportunity for an Operational Business Manager to join the Medicine Division.
Responsibilities
- Build and lead a team of three Operational Business Managers, working collaboratively to deliver services and patient outcomes.
- Operate as the operational lead for the assigned service, driving performance and transformation while influencing staff.
- Provide operational leadership to clinical leads, service leads, matrons and external partners, ensuring productivity, efficiency and viability.
- Use key performance indicators such as quality of clinical outcome, income, expenditure, human resources and operational performance to guide decisions.
- Ensure compliance with nationally and locally agreed standards for access to healthcare, including management of length of stay, the A&E four‑hour standard, ambulance access and reduction of health‑care inequalities.
- Interpret and implement relevant policies and procedures and take appropriate action where required.
- Provide assurance and performance information to the Divisional Leadership Team and clinical leaders.
- Deputise for the Deputy Divisional Director and support senior management.
- Develop, implement and monitor improvement plans and introduce new or revised policies.
- Lead capacity management and planning activities to maintain adequate service levels.
- Provide general managerial advice and use discretion to achieve expected results.
Additional Information
Operational Business Manager will be required to deputise for the Deputy Divisional Director and support the implementation of improvement plans in line with national and local standards.
