Fortalice are aiming to recruit two Children and Young People’s (CYP) Project Workers to join our dynamic, hard‑working team. The CYP Project Worker will support children and young people in the Bolton borough to work through trauma as a result of exposure to Domestic Abuse (DA). Attendance and participation at multi‑agency meetings is a key part of the role and, through working collaboratively with external organisations, the CYP Project Worker will assess, support and educate children and young people both individually and as part of group work sessions. Much of the work will be community based with an office base within our Children, Young People and Education Hub in Bolton. The service is ‘needs‑led’ with appointments and services being offered to meet the demands of the individual child or young person. Identifying and assisting with safeguarding issues is a key part of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Build and develop supportive relationships with children and young people, maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Assess, support and educate children and young people both individually and in group work sessions.
  • Attend and participate in multi‑agency meetings.
  • Provide practical assistance to help children and young people recover from the domestic abuse they have experienced or are currently living with.
  • Identify and assist with safeguarding issues.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Knowledge of domestic abuse and its effects on women and children.
  • Sound understanding of safeguarding, child protection, Early Help and 'adults at risk', and a commitment to follow procedure.
  • Current valid driving licence and access to a vehicle with business insurance for travel to different venues.
