Who we are looking for

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Cover Supervisor to join our dedicated team at TDMS. This role is ideal for someone considering a future career in teaching or a career in pastoral care and behaviour management. As part of your role, you will gain valuable whole‑class experience and build a strong foundation that can support future progression, for the right candidate, onto one of the many routes to Qualified Teacher Status through our Haybridge SCITT or onto a pastoral career such as an achievement leader.

Responsibilities

  • Work under the guidance of teaching/senior staff with individuals/groups, in or out of the classroom
  • Supervise whole classes during the absence of teachers
  • Provide 1:1 or small group interventions (where applicable)

The post is permanent, 37 hours per week, term time only plus the school training days. Salary Scale TA 3 (point range 7-17) (£26,403- £31,022) pro‑rated to term time only working. Start date: 1 September 2026. This role reports to a member of SLT.

Qualifications & experience

  • NVQ level 3 or above qualification appropriate to the post or relevant experience
  • Level 2 in English and maths or evidence of working at this level
  • Very good IT, numeracy and literacy skills
  • Willingness to undertake further professional development
  • Previous experience of working in a classroom environment with students
  • Experience of procedures relating to child protection and safeguarding
