The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has become available for a proven Production Manager to join a well-established chemical manufacturing business and take ownership of day-to-day operations. As Production Supervisor you’ll ensure safe, compliant and efficient delivery against the production plan.
Your duties and responsibilities will be:
- Oversee daily plant operations to ensure production targets are achieved in line with S&OP while maintaining strict safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Plan and coordinate maintenance activities and plant outages in collaboration with engineering, maintenance, and planning teams.
- Lead, audit, and support site personnel to ensure full compliance with operating procedures, permits to work, and safe systems of work.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including reviewing operating practices, implementing enhancements, and progressing operator-led improvement ideas.
- Act as a key point of leadership during incidents, shutdowns, commissioning activities, and out-of-hours operational support when required.
You will have the following qualifications & experience:
- A minimum of HNC/HND in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline, or significant experience gained within complex process plant operations.
- Proven experience supervising teams within a chemical or process manufacturing environment, with the ability to motivate and influence others.
- Strong understanding of high-risk operations, including permit-to-work systems, risk assessments, and incident management.
- Solid technical knowledge of chemical plant equipment and processes, with a methodical and improvement-focused mindset.
- Good IT capability, including Microsoft Office applications, with exposure to ERP systems such as SAP being advantageous.
It’s great if you also have the following:
- Experience leading teams in COMAH, ATEX, or similarly regulated process plants, where safety-critical operations are part of daily work.
