An exciting opportunity exists for a Band 7 Menopause Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our gynaecology team, supporting and developing menopause services across both Princess Royal and Royal Shrewsbury NHS Trusts.
Responsibilities
- You will be an experienced RGN capable of leading and assessing the work of the nursing team, drawing upon your own clinical and managerial experience.
- Your role will include:
- Developing and implementing menopause clinics.
- Providing autonomous, unsupervised care for menopause patients on an out‑patient basis, including one‑to‑one and group sessions.
- Conducting patient assessments and delivering a variety of nurse‑led clinics focused on a holistic approach to menopause care.
- Managing patients with menopausal symptoms.
- Potentially facilitating menopause and menstrual health group sessions.
Qualifications & Experience
- Work as an autonomous practitioner, unsupervised with the ability to manage patient care.
- Engagement in all training delivery methods made available, which include self‑directed and formal courses of study, shadowing of experienced clinical specialists, supervised practice, and competency assessment.
- Throughout training, you will provide care that offers a holistic service to women, delivers education for patients in preventative healthcare, and ensures all statutory and mandatory training is complete and up to date.
- Patient care will be delivered through pre‑planned staff clinics within a SaTH, balancing training and support with direct service delivery, reducing the training component and increasing time in independent service delivery.
