An exciting opportunity exists for a Band 7 Menopause Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our gynaecology team, supporting and developing menopause services across both Princess Royal and Royal Shrewsbury NHS Trusts.

Responsibilities

  • You will be an experienced RGN capable of leading and assessing the work of the nursing team, drawing upon your own clinical and managerial experience.
  • Your role will include:
  • Developing and implementing menopause clinics.
  • Providing autonomous, unsupervised care for menopause patients on an out‑patient basis, including one‑to‑one and group sessions.
  • Conducting patient assessments and delivering a variety of nurse‑led clinics focused on a holistic approach to menopause care.
  • Managing patients with menopausal symptoms.
  • Potentially facilitating menopause and menstrual health group sessions.
  • Assessment, management, relevant clinical procedures, planning and evaluation of menopause care will be central to your duties.
  • Qualifications & Experience

    • Work as an autonomous practitioner, unsupervised with the ability to manage patient care.
    • Engagement in all training delivery methods made available, which include self‑directed and formal courses of study, shadowing of experienced clinical specialists, supervised practice, and competency assessment.
    • Throughout training, you will provide care that offers a holistic service to women, delivers education for patients in preventative healthcare, and ensures all statutory and mandatory training is complete and up to date.
    • Patient care will be delivered through pre‑planned staff clinics within a SaTH, balancing training and support with direct service delivery, reducing the training component and increasing time in independent service delivery.
