Are you an experienced Tekla Draughtsperson looking for a new challenge and to join a rapidly expanding engineering business? Due to continued expansion, we are seeking a talented and motivated Tekla Draughtsperson to join their close-knit design team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in a company that values skill, precision, and teamwork.

Your New Role

As a Tekla Draughtsperson, you will be central to our project lifecycle. You will work closely with our engineers, fabrication shop, and site installation teams to produce accurate and constructible steelwork models and drawings.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Creating detailed 3D structural steel models using Tekla Structures.
  • Producing comprehensive fabrication and assembly drawings, along with General Arrangement (GA) drawings.
  • Generating material lists, NC files, and other outputs for our fabrication machinery.
  • Liaising with engineers to develop practical and efficient connection details.
  • Coordinating your designs with other construction disciplines (architectural, MEP, etc.).
  • Ensuring all work adheres to relevant British Standards, company procedures, and project specifications.
  • Participating in design reviews and contributing to continuous improvement.

To succeed in your new role, you will need:

  • Proven experience as a Tekla Draughtsperson/Detailer within the UK structural steelwork industry.
  • A strong working knowledge of Tekla Structures (essential).
  • A solid understanding of steelwork fabrication processes, welding, and bolting.
  • Excellent knowledge of steel construction methods and connection design.
  • The ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.
  • A high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to work to deadlines.
  • Good communication skills and a collaborative team-player attitude.
  • A relevant qualification in Civil/Structural Engineering or Draughting (HNC/HND or equivalent) is desirable.
