Desian Education are proud to be working in partnership with an extremely inclusive single-form entry primary school in Ellesmere Port that is at the heart of its local community as they require a motivated and reliable teaching assistant to join their team on a full-time temporary basis. This is an extremely exciting opportunity to join a mixed nursery and reception class on a full-time basis with a school with a fantastic reputation across the local authority.

Your new role: In this school you will be joining an experienced and welcoming EYFS cohort, working in collaboration with the class teacher to support the development and engagement of all pupils within a mixed nursery and reception class. You will aid in general classroom and behaviour management as well as supporting the developmental requirements of pupils by holding learn through play sessions to promote social interaction and fine motor development. You will also hold small group reading comprehension and phonics interventions with the reception pupils. This is an extremely inclusive class that also has a number of pupils with EHCPs.

To support their development, you will:

  • Promote positive behaviours
  • Use Makaton and PECs
  • Assist with personal/intimate care

What you need to succeed:

  • Full “Right to Work” in the UK
  • A minimum of 40 days referenceable classroom experience within the last 2 years
  • Expert knowledge of the EYFS national curriculum
  • An NVQ Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent qualification
  • An Enhanced Children’s DBS certificate or willingness to obtain
