Our Client is currently seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer working within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, playing a key role in ensuring maximum equipment reliability, safety, and performance across the site. This is a hands-on position operating on a continental shift pattern, supporting production through both planned and reactive maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out fault finding, diagnostics, and repair on electrical and control systems
- Maintain and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, sensors, drives, and automation equipment
- Support planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules
- Respond to breakdowns to minimise downtime and maintain production efficiency
- Ensure all work complies with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards
- Assist with continuous improvement projects and equipment upgrades
- Work closely with production and other engineering teams
About You
- Qualified Electrical Engineer (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent)
- Previous experience in a food or FMCG manufacturing environment preferred
- Strong electrical fault-finding skills (single & three-phase systems)
- Experience with PLCs (Siemens / Allen Bradley desirable)
- Comfortable working continental shifts, including nights and weekends
- Proactive, team-focused, and safety-conscious
