About this job
Job Role: PA needed to support a 17‑year‑old autistic son with building his independence, confidence, and life skills. The PA will accompany him to community activities and facilitate independent skill development over 10 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Transport him to and from activities and to home address
- Encourage independence skills (e.g., public transport usage)
- Support communication and social interaction
- Help develop money management skills
- Develop personal safety skills
Qualifications & Requirements
- Confident, caring, patient, and engaging
- Good communicator with a positive, friendly attitude
- Understanding of Autism and sensory needs
- Ability to promote independence while maintaining safety
- Intuitive prompting for toilet breaks and snacks
- Physically fit to supervise sport and exercise activities
- DBS check or willingness to obtain one
- No specific gender preference
Other Details
Hours will be used: Every morning, spread out during the week.
Employer is a male, 17‑year‑old living at home with his mum. He has a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder and an associated learning disability, enjoys creative activities, and is developing independent life skills.
