Owen Payne Recruitment are recruiting for an experienced Wood Mill Operative for our client located in the Kingswinford area; our client specialises in the build and design of bespoke furniture. This role is a 12-week temporary to permanent position offering significant career growth.
Responsibilities
- Operate a range of machinery, including saws, sanders, CNC etc.
- Cut, shape and prepare timber components according to specifications.
- Assemble wooden frames and structures.
- Perform quality checks on all components.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised working area.
- Report any defects, shortages or machine issues to the Production Supervisor.
Hours of Work
Monday to Thursday: 7:30am – 4:30pm
Friday: 7:30am – 2:30pm
Pay
£13.25 per hour
Requirements
- Previous experience working in a wood mill, joinery workshop or similar manufacturing environment.
- Confidence using hand tools and basic woodworking machinery.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to read and follow measurements and drawings accurately.
- Good communication skills and a positive, team-focused attitude.
