Position Overview

Location: The Wenlock School, Dudley, West Midlands DY1 3SB

Salary: £25,837.50 FTE, DOE

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 16:30pm

Contract: Permanent

Essential: Full valid UK driving licence and access to own vehicle

Role Description

This is a cross‑disciplinary role focused on supporting Speech and Language Therapists and Occupational Therapists in delivering evidence‑based assessments and interventions to pupils with special educational needs. Work closely with the therapy team to provide high‑quality support tailored to our pupils’ needs. Collaborate with the education team and families to facilitate learning and engagement. Create communication and sensory profiles and contribute to placement plans. Deliver a range of interventions and co‑facilitate staff training. Attend multi‑agency meetings and contribute to ongoing service development. Engage in continuous professional development through internal forums and external training.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide evidence‑based assessments and interventions under clinical supervision.
  • Support pupils to engage in meaningful activities and interactions.
  • Carry out 1:1 and group sessions with SEN pupils.
  • Maintain accurate administration records for the team.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of 5 GCSE passes including English at Grade C or above.
  • Evidence of relevant post‑16 education.
  • Experience as a therapy assistant or similar role (advantageous).
  • Experience working within an educational setting (advantageous).
  • Skilled in teamwork and communication with professionals, carers, and families.
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
  • Willingness to work towards further qualifications as required.
