Position
Site Manager (Retrofit) – Location: Bristol or Basingstoke office, site based around Chippenham, Royal Wootton Basset, Newbury and surrounding areas. Typically works Monday to Friday, 39 hours per week.
Overview
As a Site Manager for Novus, you’ll see the impact and improvements your role delivers to customers and team every day. This varied and challenging role offers the opportunity to work with and manage a skilled professional trade team, mobilise new clients with retrofit works, and work in secure environments with long‑term contracts. You will also utilise your Site Management skills in live Social Housing environments, delivering retrofit and planned refurbishment works while adding real social value to the communities and customers you serve.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage site teams, work activities and resources to meet the requirements of individual contracts.
- Oversee the selection and formation of site personnel teams, including subcontractors.
- Collate all pre‑construction information (packs, asbestos surveys, etc.) and ensure accurate, timely contract documentation and reports in conjunction with the Contracts Manager.
- Identify site hazards and implement risk assessments and control methods via the Construction Phase Health and Safety plan.
- Ensure all sites comply with legal and statutory requirements, including health, safety and welfare.
- Assist in preparation of estimates, bids and tenders in partnership with the Contracts Manager.
- Create, manage and report on projects with multiple live site locations using a master programme.
Qualifications
- Strong experience in planned refurbishment works and preferably good working retrofit knowledge, within social housing/tenanted properties.
- Good working knowledge of internal and external works, including solar, insulation and ventilation measures, and window and door installs.
- Experience managing delivery through to completion/handover, including understanding complex documentation and evidence collating to tight deadlines.
- Managing multiple sites simultaneously.
- Commercial awareness, ensuring costs meet budget requirements.
- Excellent communication skills to build relationships with clients and tenants.
- Full UK driving licence for daily site travel.
- SMSTS or associated NVQ, 3-day First Aid, confident IT skills and proficiency in MS Office.
- DBS check required.
