Key Responsibilities
- The post holder will contribute to the provision of specialist paediatric imaging services.
- They will further develop services within the trust and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to maintain the highest standards of care.
- The proportion of specialist work relative to general radiology provision is open to negotiation.
- The post holder will be expected to contribute to the supervision of radiology SpRs assigned to the department.
- The appointee will be expected to demonstrate firm involvement in Clinical Governance, Risk Management and Clinical Audit, complying with GMC guidelines on good medical practice and Data Protection legislation.
- All employees must participate in Mandatory Training as required by the Trust.
On Call Requirements
- The post will also include an equitable participation in the general (non-interventional) on-call rota.
- The post holder will be required to participate in an on-call rota, currently on a 1 in 16 basis attracting 0.935PAs, subject to changes in the number of employed radiologists and changes in service provision.
- This is currently paid at Band A on call allowance which attracts a supplement of 3%.
- Night time CT (after 8pm weekdays, 6pm weekends) is currently outsourced to ensure that the following day's work is not compromised by disturbed sleep.
- However, the in-house radiologist remains on-call through the night for advice, provision of other modalities and backup in case of IT failure.
- The SpRs also contribute to the on-call service.
