About the Role
We are looking for an ambitious and inspiring Assistant Headteacher for Behaviour & Attitudes to join the Senior Leadership Team at The Wenlock School. The role is more than a leadership position; it is an opportunity to drive meaningful change, champion inclusive practice and create an environment where pupils and staff can thrive together.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead whole‑school behaviour, attitudes and pastoral strategies.
- Embed trauma‑informed and relational approaches across the school.
- Use data and evidence to drive improvement in behaviour, attendance and wellbeing.
- Lead and maintain robust safeguarding and pastoral systems.
- Coaching, supporting and developing staff to promote consistent practice.
- Build strong relationships with pupils, families and external agencies.
- Lead reintegration, intervention and personalised support pathways.
- Contribute to whole‑school improvement as a key member of the Senior Leadership Team.
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree qualified in Education, Psychology or a related field.
- Inspirational and confident leader with experience in behaviour, pastoral or SEND leadership.
- Passionate about creating inclusive environments where every child can succeed.
- Skilled in trauma‑informed practice, emotional regulation and behaviour support.
- Exceptional communicator who builds positive relationships easily.
- Calm, resilient and solution‑focused under pressure.
- Experience in leading teams and driving positive change.
- Deeply committed to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.
- Motivated to inspire staff and improve outcomes for young people.
- Holder of a full UK Driving Licence.
