Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality drama lessons in line with the Curriculum for Wales
- Teach drama techniques including performance, improvisation, scripted work, and theatre studies
- Assess, monitor, and record student progress, providing constructive feedback
- Prepare pupils for examinations and performances where applicable
- Create a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment
- Contribute to school productions, performances, and extracurricular activities
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies
- Work collaboratively with colleagues within the Expressive Arts department
- Communicate effectively with parents/carers and staff as required
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development
Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
- Degree or strong subject knowledge in Drama / Performing Arts
- Experience teaching drama at secondary level (KS3 and/or KS4)
- Ability to motivate and engage pupils of varying abilities
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
