  • Salary & Hours: ÂŁ33,545 FTE 44 hours per week

  • Full-time employees receive 28 days of annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays), increasing to 33 days after 5 years of service.

Job Overview

  • Lead by example, lift the team: As a hands-on leader, you'll set the tone on the shop floor, motivating your team, jumping in where needed, and making sure everyone feels supported. Your energy and guidance help create a workplace where people enjoy coming to work and customers love to shop.
  • Put people first, every time: Whether you're helping a colleague grow in confidence or making sure a customer leaves with a smile, your leadership will shape the store’s atmosphere. You'll coach your team through busy days, guide them to deliver great service, and keep standards high across the board.
  • Keep the store thriving: From managing daily tasks to reacting quickly when things change, you'll stay focused and lead with purpose. Whether it's helping your team stay on top of priorities or jumping on the shop floor to lend a hand, you’ll make sure the store runs smoothly and feels great to shop in.
  • Grow confident, capable leaders: You won’t just lead the team, you'll help shape it. From giving feedback and sharing knowledge to supporting training and spotting potential, you’ll play a big part in developing the next generation of Home Bargains leaders.

Minimum Criteria To Apply

  • Experience supervising small to medium-sized teams in a fast-paced retail or hospitality environment
  • A proven ability to lead teams to achieve high weekly sales targets
  • Confidence in supporting recruitment, training, and day-to-day team development
  • A strong understanding of store priorities, standards, and customer service expectations

You’ll also need to demonstrate:

  • The ability to prioritise and organise work
  • A strong focus on customer experience
  • Clear and effective communication
  • Team leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Commercial awareness and a drive to deliver results
