An exciting opportunity has arisen for the role of Deputy Head of Legal Services. This is a full‑time role working within the Trust's busy Legal Services Department, supporting the Head of Legal Services. The role will be based at Fairfield General Hospital with some requirement to travel to other sites and to Coroner's Court.
Responsibilities
- The post holder will be responsible for supporting the Head of Legal Services in developing and implementing core objectives aligned to patient safety strategies across the organisation.
- Assist in developing systems for coronial inquest preparation to ensure lessons are learned following any sub‑optimal care episode, support families, and prevent Coronial Regulation 28 reports.
- Assist in managing the Trust’s claims and inquest function to ensure employer’s liability, public liability, clinical negligence claims and contentious inquests are managed effectively, minimising the risk to the Trust.
- Foster close working relationships and promote a positive safety culture across the organisation, working collaboratively with colleagues in governance, healthcare professionals and relevant external organisations.
