We are currently recruiting experienced and compassionate Senior Care Staff to support a number of well-established nursing homes across the Cwmbran area. This is an excellent opportunity to join a professional healthcare agency offering flexible work and ongoing opportunities within supportive care environments.
The Role: As a Senior Care Assistant, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality care to residents while supporting the smooth running of shifts within nursing home settings. You will work closely with nurses and care teams to ensure residents receive safe, person-centred care at all times.
Duties Include:
- Administering and recording medication safely
- Supporting residents with personal care and daily living activities
- Assisting with moving and handling using appropriate equipment and safe practices
- Supporting residents with mobility and emotional wellbeing
- Leading and supporting care staff during shifts
- Monitoring residents’ conditions and reporting concerns
- Maintaining accurate care records and documentation
- Promoting dignity, independence, and respect for all residents
- Working collaboratively with nurses, families, and healthcare professionals
Requirements:
- Medication trained
- 6 months UK based senior care assistant experience
- Moving and handling training
- NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Health & Social Care
- Previous experience within nursing or care home settings
- Senior care experience preferred
- Reliable, professional, and caring approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
