Responsibilities:

  • You will work in custody suites in collaboration with the Police, delivering healthcare to detainees and ensuring their safety with round-time coverage.
  • Provide high-quality patient care under pressure and across diverse clinical situations.
  • Work within a fixed shift rota: day shift 06:45–19:00 and night shift 18:45–07:00 with a pattern of 2 days on, 8 days off, 2 nights on, 4 days off.
  • Be available for rolling rota up to two years in advance.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Registered nurse (RN), registered general nurse (RGN) or registered mental health nurse (RMN) with dual registration; 2+ years post-qualification experience in a patient-facing role within a relevant clinical setting (e.g., A&E, GP, Emergency Medicine, Acute Medicine, Prison Healthcare, or Ambulance Service).
  • Band 5 minimum or Paramedic with 2+ years post-qualification.
  • Valid driver’s licence.
  • Fit to work in the UK: British Passport or ILR for 3 years, no gaps out of country longer than 3 months.
  • Subject to Police vetting.

Salary & Benefits:

  • £20,500 per year salary.
  • £500 bonus upon completion of 12 months of service.
  • Part-time working arrangement with full-shift coverage including nights.
  • Estimated overtime of £3,500 per annum.
  • NMC/HCPC registration paid.

Location & Working Hours:

Primary base in a custody suite with flexibility to work across the Police Custody Suites and force area.
