Role Summary
The Logistics Team Supervisor takes ownership of the live logistics operation, working closely with the Logistics Team Manager and deputising when necessary.
This desk‑based, hands‑on role involves supervising a busy office that deals with phone calls, email, bookings, quotes and customer issues, while directing 50–70 drivers on van and HGV deliveries.
- Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities
- Supervise inbound calls, email inbox, bookings, quotes and customer issues.
- Oversee live orders from initial enquiry to successful delivery.
- Balance customer service, inbound sales and driver management.
- Plan and control capacity across drivers and partners.
- Recruit and onboard the local courier fleet.
- Make fast, confident decisions with incomplete information.
- Handle escalations calmly and professionally.
- Supervise the logistics office team, covering customer‑facing and driver‑facing roles.
- Be accountable for service quality and client satisfaction.
