We are seeking an experienced HVAC Engineer to deliver a world-class and consistent building maintenance service for our stakeholders. You will be responsible for maintaining HVAC and general building services across client sites, ensuring reliability, safety, and high-quality service at all times.
We are looking for a technician with strong diagnostic ability, hands-on experience with AC systems under 10 years old, and the capability to carry out a broad range of non-AC maintenance tasks. This role combines planned and reactive work across HVAC equipment, general building fabric, and associated systems.
You will work across a regional portfolio of sites including Birkenhead, Newcastle-under-Lyme, Longton, Kidsgrove, Congleton, Northwich, Arrowe Park, Macclesfield, Connah’s Quay, Buxton, Chester, Stoke, Runcorn, and Crewe, requiring regular travel. A valid UK driving licence is essential, and a company van is provided.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out day-to-day PPM and reactive maintenance on HVAC and AC systems.
- Diagnose faults, complete repairs, and undertake minor installations on Daikin and Toshiba units.
- Change fan belts, filters, and measure/control system sensor performance.
- Inspect, repair, modify, and install HVAC equipment including compressors, condensers, chillers, pumps, valves, and cooling towers.
- Conduct routine preventive inspections on refrigeration units, boilers, gas and electric AC equipment, and evaporative coolers.
- Repair or replace defective HVAC components including thermostats, switches, controls, dampers, relays, heat exchangers, and safety valves.
- Perform non-AC building maintenance tasks (approx. 50–60% of role), such as fixing lighting issues or replacing toilet flush mechanisms.
- Operate and maintain hand and power tools, test equipment, and inventory in a safe and effective condition.
- Standard practices and theory of HVAC and refrigeration systems.
- Materials, methods, and tools used in HVAC operation and repair.
- Applicable building codes, regulations, and ordinances covering HVAC, refrigeration, and boilers.
- Air compressors and pneumatic controls.
- Cooling tower and boiler water treatment.
- Manual and electrical tools applicable to HVAC and refrigeration work.
- Ideal: Level 3 Install F-Gas Category.
- UK driving licence required for regional travel.
