We are looking to recruit a Decontamination Technician for our busy service.
Responsibilities
- Work as part of the Endoscopy Decontamination Team within the Treatment Centre, operating over a seven‑day week.
- Understand the functions and clinical use of endoscopes.
- Maintain knowledge of all endoscopes used, including their care and maintenance requirements.
- Provide safe, effective and consistent decontamination of endoscopes and associated equipment.
- Follow established procedures and guidelines to ensure high‑quality decontamination and accurate documentation.
- Comply fully with national standards, including HTM01‑06.
- Demonstrate a commitment to high standards of infection prevention and control.
- Work effectively as part of a team and also be capable of working independently, using initiative.
- Communicate clearly and collaboratively with colleagues and other NHS staff.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Working knowledge of endoscopes and their maintenance.
- Strong understanding of infection prevention and control principles.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to think independently.
- Passion, forward‑thinking attitude, and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, high patient turnover environment.
