We are looking for motivated and community focused individuals to join us as Civil Enforcement Officers, working in a visible frontline role that supports residents, businesses and visitors across the borough.
About you
The successful candidate will be calm, approachable and resilient, with the ability to deliver a high standard of customer care at all times. They will be capable of remaining professional and composed in challenging or confrontational situations. A good standard in education is required, along with excellent attention to detail and an understanding of relevant parking and traffic regulations. The role suits someone who enjoys working outdoors and is confident using mobile technology as part of their daily duties. The post holder must be flexible in their availability, including working evenings and weekends as required.
About the role
As a Civil Enforcement Officer, you will work across Cheshire East’s highway network to help ensure parking and traffic regulations are followed, keeping roads safe, accessible and moving. These roles are based from the Municipal Building Crewe, and will primarily cover the south of the borough, including Crewe, Sandbach, Holmes Chapel, Alsager, Middlewich, Nantwich, Brereton and other small towns and parishes, although there may be occasions where you are required to work elsewhere across the borough. The role is mainly outdoors and includes on street and off street patrols across the highway and council operated car parks. You will educate motorists on safe, considerate and legal parking, particularly in and around schools, helping to keep children and pedestrians safe at drop off and pick up times. You will also support traffic flow, open and close pedestrianised areas and car parks, and issue Penalty Charge Notices where required. Mobile technology and body worn equipment will be used to record information accurately and support a professional, visible frontline service.
