About the Role

We are seeking a confident and adaptable Cover Supervisor to join a supportive SEN school in Crumpsall. This is a full-time role starting immediately, ideal for someone with experience working with students with special educational needs or those looking to build a career in education. You will be responsible for supervising classes in the absence of the teacher, ensuring students remain engaged in their learning while maintaining a safe and structured environment. The school supports pupils with a range of additional needs, so a calm, patient, and proactive approach is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise whole classes during teacher absence, delivering pre-set work
  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
  • Support students with SEN, including autism, ADHD, and SEMH needs
  • Provide guidance and encouragement to keep students on task
  • Work closely with teaching staff and support teams

Requirements

  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally within an SEN setting
  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills
  • Confident leading a classroom and following lesson plans
  • Patient, resilient, and adaptable approach
  • Enhanced DBS on the child and adult workforce update service (or willingness to obtain one)
