We are seeking to appoint a Consultant Radiologist to join our friendly and dynamic team at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust.
Key Responsibilities
- Reporting plain film, ultrasound, MRI and CT work as per the timetabled schedule.
- Agree on a job plan and work programme, with mutual consent, ensuring alignment with other consultants' commitments.
- Operate flexibly within the 7‑day service; participate in a 1‑in‑16 on‑call rota, covering one evening every four weeks (5pm–7pm) and one weekend every sixteen, with backup on outsourced services or during major incidents.
- Attend cancer and non‑cancer multidisciplinary team meetings as required.
- Teach and supervise specialty trainees and clinical fellows in radiology, including clinical and educational supervision responsibilities.
- Contribute to the Directorate Clinical Audit Programme and participate in quality improvement projects related to clinical governance.
- Engage in research and publication activities; limited funding for research projects is available.
Working Hours and Schedule
Full‑time contract includes 1.5 programmed activities for supporting professional activities and 1 PA for 7‑day working. On‑call involvement is part of the rota, with expectations of evening and weekend coverage as outlined above.
Qualifications
Full registration with the GMC and FRCR (or equivalent). Eligible for inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register or within six months of obtaining a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) at the date of interview.
