Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust is looking to recruit a part‑time substantive Consultant Psychiatrist for a post based in Bury, Manchester. The service operates in a sectorised model and is staffed by 2 WTE sector consultants in Older People Psychiatry, with an additional 0.6 WTE consultant providing support to clinics and the care‑home liaison service. Outpatient clinics are supported by a junior doctor (NW Deanery training schemes) and GP trainees.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high‑quality mental health care for older people with severe and enduring mental health problems in outpatient clinics.
  • Work closely with other teams and consultants to ensure coherent and high‑quality mental health care for older people within the Bury area.
  • Collaborate with other consultants to support the development of the service and attend local and divisional service development meetings.

Qualifications

Applicants must be on the GMC’s Specialist Register or eligible for inclusion, or be within six months of the anticipated award of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Older People Psychiatry at the time of interview.
